I had a great chance to be part of a great soccer team thanks to parents they provided me with everything they could possibly give me. My father is hard working man that tries his best to maintain us and my mother is a stay home mother that takes care of us they have both worked hard to provide not just me but my brothers with what they can. My father’s name is Raul Leal and my mother’s name Maria Rojas they are both originally from Mexico even though they were born in different parts of Mexico. They met here is Los Angeles after dating for a year I was born and they got married soon after that. I am fortunate to have them as parents because if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have had the chance to not only play soccer but a chance to be part of my dream team Club America. I have always wondered about my parent’s child hood so I have asked them a couple of questions for my interview.
The first couple of questions will be for my Father.
Q. What was your child hood like did you have struggles as a child?
A. My child hood was like any normal kids life I grew up as the second oldest child my family was big the only struggle that I really had as a child was that my family didn’t have much money to support us my father was a farmer and at the time he was the only one working.
Q. Did you finish school if you didn’t what grade did you finish up to?
A. I went all the way up to 9th grade in high school and it wasn’t because I couldn’t finish it I had the chance to finish my parents encouraged me all the time to keep going but I didn’t like going to school so I had made a decision to leave school and help my father with the expenses.
Q. Did you like the job that you got when you left high school?
A. Well… I loved it I loved being in the field and being around my dad he taught me everything there was to know about the field I loved working at the fields and it was better than being in school something I didn’t like.
Q. Do you regret leaving school?
I don’t, why well because at the time I helped out my family a lot and it also opened the way for me to migrate to the United States.
Q. Do you think it would have been different if you would of stayed in school do you think you would of stayed in Mexico if you were in school?
A. I really believe that I would have still been in Mexico if I would have stayed in Mexico I would of most likely finished a career.
Q. Lastly do you regret your past did you wish for a different future?
A. I don’t regret anything I am proud of what I have done I know that I am giving it my best and I wouldn’t of changed anything about my life now I have a great family and that’s all that is important.
Now to ask my mother a couple of questions
Q. How would you describe yourself?
A. Well you know how I am , I am a very outgoing person and I am straight forward with you and if I don’t like something I tell you.
Q. Was your family untied when you were young?
A. Yes my family was really untied even though we had some differences between each other but as a family we always had each other’s back.
Q. What was it like to watch me practice every day?
A. Well you know I’m not a big fanatic of soccer but as long as It made you happy and you weren’t doing something else that was bad for you I didn’t mind it at all
This is for both of my parents
Q. Did I in a way disappoint you because I didn’t accomplish what I wanted in soccer?
MA. My mother’s response, you didn’t at all because you give it your best and it is something you like to do not everything in life comes at you easy
FA. My Father’s response, Not at all I mean no matter how much money in time we spent as long you were happy that was all that mattered to us and we wouldn’t of changed for any reason.
