Hello students,
I hope you've enjoyed your weekend and that your midterms aren't too overwhelming. As we begin Project Text, we'll look at different ways texts and art are reproduced. Therefore, we will be exploring notable literary and cultural critic (and one of my favorite philosophers) Walter Benjamin.

Our Plan for Thursday:
I will collect your copies Thursday and evaluate how well you're engaging with and annotating the reading. We will also discuss the text during class, so come prepared with questions.
I hope you find it informative and enjoyable!
- Finish reading Benjamin's "Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction."
- Map the text. Look back to my previous Prof. Notes post that includes the "How to Map a Text" file.
- Copy and paste the Benjamin article on a Word document so you give yourself enough space for marginalia. Take note of words that are unfamiliar and concepts you may not fully understand. Do some online research that may help you become familiar with Benjamin's ideas.
