Dear students,
As you work on finalizing your essays, I'd like to make a few notes and reminders about the multimodal print projects.
As you work on finalizing your essays, I'd like to make a few notes and reminders about the multimodal print projects.
Keep in mind the following:
Overall, you should really be working in your groups as a team. I know some of your are relying on just one person to do the layout, but I don't like that. It's fine if that's what you agreed to as a group (and I hope the grades you give each other reflect that extra responsibility). But really all of you should be helping each other.
GRADING
Your grade depends on how well you write. Yes I take the layout into consideration to see how well you pair visual and written rhetoric and how well you transfer digital writing to print writing. However, the biggest weight is placed on your essays.
If you're missing essays, that is not good at all. If your essays have grammar errors, are not appropriately developed, or it looks like you're not trying to improve your writing, then that's going to affect your grade in the class the most.
So out of everything, your writing is the most important. Not the pictures you choose or the pretty fonts. The writing itself.
I look forward to see how you've developed your own writing style!
- Send me the second draft of your layout by 5 pm tomorrow so I can comment with enough time.
- Last time I just made notes on the layout design. This time I am focusing on your writing. So polish it.
-
- Look at the ideas in your essays and change anything you'd like to fix, such as adding more sources, introducing sources, developing your ideas, and so on.
- Get rid of the hyperlinks.
- Italicize appropriate titles.
- Use quotations on other titles.
- Check your spelling and grammar.
