Hello everyone,
Here is the plan for this week:
Tuesday, February 4
Bring an additional article to class of your choosing. The only requirements are that it's an online article and you found it an enjoyable read. Also, bring the readings from last week.

Thursday, February 6
Set up a Twitter account. For instructions go here: http://m.wikihow.com/Make-a-Twitter-Account
Things to keep in mind for Twitter: This is for academic/professional purposes so please think about the rhetorical situation. (We'll discuss Tuesday.)
Also, come prepared to discuss possible ideas for your long-form essay for Project Text. I recommend giving this a look for ways in which you can start looking for the "stories" attached to people and things:
http://www.brainpickings.org/index.php/2012/08/24/how-to-be-an-explorer-of-the-world-keri-smith/
No need to print it out for class. Just browse it.
So observe two different things:
1. 3 Objects (Any objects)
2. 2 People (One well-known and another who is personal to you)
For the long-form essay you will research the stories of these things or people. So for Thursday, come prepared with a list of three things you own or are curious to know more about. Possible objects include, but are not limited to, 1. a journal given to you, 2. an item from your room or house, 3. a school landmark (murals, sculptures, etc.). For people, think of someone well-known you may want to research and someone who is close to you, such as a parent, relative, guardian, friend, etc...)
See you soon!
